[02 More Information on Clear Stamps]

Hi crafters!

Today's post provides more information on clear stamps.
Though I'm not very experienced with clear stamps yet, I do know how to use them.
And today I'm going to show you how!

In this pictorial, I'll be using Lawn Fawn's Birthday Tags, Apple Pie Memories' acrylic block & Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad.

1) Firstly, all clear stamps should come with an acetate backing and they're naturally sticky on one side while the other side is used for stamping.
2) Peel the stamp off the backing and stick onto a clear acrylic block.
3) Ink it up! Usually, the ink pad is brought to the stamp instead of the other way round conventionally to get better results.
4) Press the stamp onto a piece of white cardstock, making sure that the entire stamp is in contact with the paper.
5) And you're done! If the image does not appear clear, you can choose to stamp over it again.

Quite simple isn't it!

This list compares the difference between acrylic and photopolymer stamps, consolidated using my own knowledge and Google. It also shows the pros, cons and examples of stamps from different companies.

And of course, my favourite is photopolymer! I remember the first time I used photopolymer stamps from Lawn Fawn, the smell was so bad. But afterwards, I got used to it. I was quite surprised to know that Penny Black's stamps are acrylic but they appear similar to photopolymer and they're definitely of better quality. So I guess there're two different classes of acrylic stamps. Love the quality of these stamps :) And for the price, I kind of expect them to last forever haha.

Till next time!
